Let’s start our Journey!
Our journey begins by picking you up at your hotels on the south and east side of Big Island which includes areas Keahou, Kailua-Kona, Waikoloa and Hapuna. This tour takes you over the Saddle Road, one of the great construction monuments in Hawaii. During the drive over the Saddle Road you will see the Mount Mauna Loa and Mount Mauna Kea on both sides for your viewing enjoyment. The drive over the and stopping at the Richardson Blacksand Beach. A beautiful beach in the Hilo covered in soft, black sand and occasionally visited by our local turtles!
Our drive goes through the Historic Banyan Drive and Queen Liliuokalani Gardens. The Banyan drive is filled with Banyan trees which bear the names of famous people who planted them throughout history. Similarly, the Queen Liliuokalani Gardens is a beautiful destination filled with the lush forestry of our Island. We top the forest section of our tour at the beautiful Rainbow Falls State Park, known for its beautiful view of the Island and never ending rainbows.For a small break, we take you on a delicious tour of our Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory. The Island of Hawaii not only sells our precious macadamia nuts but also beautiful orchids. Hilo is the orchid capital of the world and you will see over 200 different types of orchids with various shapes, scents, and striking colors.
Finally, we experience the center of Hawaii’s culture, lifestyle, and connection with the Island. The Volcanoes National Park, established in 1916 encompasses two active volcanoes: Kīlauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes. This experience includes the Thurston Lava Tube approximately 10 minutes or 1/3 mile walk thru the lush jungle and lava tube. Also, ground water seeps down to the hot volcanic rocks in this area and returns to the surface as steam creating incredible steam vents. Finally, the Thomas A. Jaggar Museum has a worldwide reputation as a leader in the study of active volcanism which is located at the site. Kilauea Crater.
