We experience the center of Hawaii’s culture, lifestyle, and connection with the Island. The Volcanoes National Park, established in 1916 encompasses two active volcanoes: Kīlauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes. This experience includes the Thurston Lava Tube approximately 10 minutes or 1/3 mile walk thru the lush jungle and lava tube. Also, ground water seeps down to the hot volcanic rocks in this area and returns to the surface as steam creating incredible steam vents. While standing at the Steam Vents, take a good look around. The area between the caldera's edge and outer cliffs of Kīlauea Caldera is a treeless plain. Finally, the Thomas A. Jaggar Museum has a worldwide reputation as a leader in the study of active volcanism which is located at the site.

Finally, we stay and watch the sun go down to see the true beauty and life of Kīlauea. As light of twilight fades, the roaring fire and lava of Kīlauea lights up the crater. This experience is the heart of our culture, history, and show cases the beauty and power of Kīlauea.

This tour was created for those who wish to see atleast the red glow. On a active days, we are able to see red molten lava flow above the Halemaumau Crater.
